The same dashboard as a native app — the full engine runs on your computer, your transactions live in a database on your own disk, and everything except live quotes keeps working with no internet connection at all.

  • Everything stays on your machine. Transactions, settings and API keys live in the app's own data folder — no cloud copy, nothing of yours stored on any server. Market prices come from the Fortunest server's shared, licensed data cache (signing in with a free account unlocks it); those requests carry only the ticker symbols you view, never your holdings.
  • Works offline. The dashboard, risk, dividends, simulations and trade recommendations all keep running from the local price cache — charts simply show the last fetched prices until you're back online.
  • A fully private AI assistant. Pair it with LM Studio or Ollama and the model runs on localhost — your portfolio never leaves the machine, even for the AI.

macOS — Apple Silicon

Version 0.2.0 · signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it opens straight from the download — no Gatekeeper warnings, just the usual one-click "downloaded from the Internet" confirmation.

Install: open the downloaded .dmg, drag Fortunest into Applications, then launch it from Spotlight or Launchpad. First launch takes a few seconds while the local engine starts. Upgrading from 0.1.x ("Portfolio Dash")? Just install Fortunest — it picks up your existing data automatically.

Requires: a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or later) running macOS 26 (Tahoe) or newer. An Intel build isn't available yet.

Windows — x64

Version 0.1.0 · the Windows build is not yet code-signed, so Microsoft Defender SmartScreen shows a warning on first run — choose More info → Run anyway. A signed build is in the works.

Install: run the installer and follow it; the app then starts from the Start menu like any other. Your data lives under your own user profile.

Requires: 64-bit Windows 10 or newer.

The desktop app is free and includes everything except the Pro tax tools, which need a hosted account with a Pro plan (activated from the app's Licensing panel). Prefer not to install anything? The hosted app is the same dashboard in your browser.
