Fortunest MCP server
Fortunest's MCP server connects Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and other MCP agents to your real multi-broker portfolio — European brokers and crypto exchanges in one view; reads run on their own, and every change needs your approval in the app — per action or as an allowance you set. Free to try on a demo portfolio, your own portfolio on Pro. It is a standard Model Context Protocol server run by Fortunest itself: your agent calls the same tools, calculations and context the in-app Assistant uses, and brings its own model — Fortunest needs no provider API key for the connection. This page is the reference; the step-by-step client setup lives in Your own agent — Pro.
Endpoints
| URL | For | Access | Tools |
|---|---|---|---|
https://app.fortunest.ai/mcp | Your own portfolio, for agents with a large context window: Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Claude Code, MCP Agent with a cloud key. | Paid Pro. OAuth 2.1 browser sign-in with dynamic client registration; you review the permissions and allow the connection in Fortunest. | All 94, filtered by the permissions you granted. |
https://app.fortunest.ai/mcp/mini | The small edition for on-device models — Apple Intelligence behind Siri in the MCP Agent iPhone app. | The same sign-in and permissions as /mcp; a connection to one is valid for the other. | Nine read-only tools — summary, top holdings, one holding, trade plan, allocation, risk, upcoming events, recent trades, watchlist — answering in a few spoken sentences of at most 700 characters. |
https://app.fortunest.ai/mcp/demo | Trying it first: the shared, synthetic demo portfolio. | Free. No account, no Pro, no sign-in. | Seventeen read-only tools, marked demo in the catalogue. |
Enter a URL exactly as written, without a trailing slash.
Transport and authentication
- Streamable HTTP on all three endpoints, JSON responses, the 2026-07-28 protocol with the older handshakes (2025-06-18 and later) still answered; tool-list changes are announced with
listChanged. - OAuth 2.1 with PKCE on
/mcpand/mcp/mini. Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Claude Code and MCP Agent register themselves (dynamic client registration); there is no client ID or secret to enter and no token to paste. Access tokens are short-lived, each connection is its own grant that expires after 30 days, and the published redirect callbacks of the hosted clients are allowlisted. - No authentication on
/mcp/demo: it holds nothing of anybody’s. - The desktop app is reached through a STDIO bridge named
fortunest-desktop— the command/Applications/Fortunest.app/Contents/MacOS/Fortunestwith--mcp-agent=codexor--mcp-agent=claude-code. It needs a compatible desktop release, a synchronized hosted portfolio and the app left running; see the desktop bridge.
Supported clients
These are the documented clients; any agent that speaks MCP over Streamable HTTP can use the same URLs. Each line is the short version — the full steps, with screenshots and troubleshooting, are linked.
- Claude (web, Desktop, mobile, Cowork): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, Remote MCP server URL
https://app.fortunest.ai/mcp, then Connect and allow it in Fortunest. Full steps. - ChatGPT: turn on Developer mode, Apps & Connectors → Create, MCP server URL
https://app.fortunest.ai/mcp, Authentication OAuth, then sign in and allow it. Full steps. - Codex (app and CLI):
codex mcp add fortunest --url https://app.fortunest.ai/mcp, thencodex mcp login fortunest. Codex app · Codex CLI. - Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http fortunest https://app.fortunest.ai/mcp, then/mcp→ fortunest → authenticate. Full steps (they add a fixed--callback-port). - MCP Agent on iPhone (Siri): add a server with the URL
https://app.fortunest.ai/mcp/minifor the on-device engine, or/mcpwith your own cloud key, and sign in. Full steps.
For the free demo, use https://app.fortunest.ai/mcp/demo in the same places with no sign-in — in ChatGPT with Authentication: No authentication; in Claude Code claude mcp add --transport http fortunest-demo https://app.fortunest.ai/mcp/demo.
The tool catalogue
The full endpoint lists 94 tools, generated from the same capability registry the in-app Assistant uses. A connection sees the ones its permissions allow; the demo mark shows the seventeen the demo endpoint serves. Each tool’s own description, arguments and limits come with the listing your agent receives; the reads are described in the Assistant chapter.

Reading and steering an open Fortunest tab: show a card, open an asset or a breakdown, filter and sort, set the chart, run a what-if, travel to a past date, present a result. They move the screen you are looking at; each action asks for your approval unless you allowed it.

Write actions, with approval — 27
Changes to stored data: favourites and lists, targets, hand-added assets and lots, categories, notes, memories and skills, settings, Super Investor follows, a Social snapshot and a connector sync. Every one waits for your approval in Fortunest.

No tool places an order with a broker or moves money: Fortunest is a tracker, and a trade plan is a recommendation, not an order.
Security and permissions
- Reading is all a connection does on its own. Every write and every dashboard action waits for your approval in the Fortunest app — approve once, reject, allow matching bounded actions, or allow everything within the connection’s permissions for 1 hour or 8 hours. Sensitive actions (publishing to Social, skills) need an approval for that connection.
- You choose the permissions at sign-in and can change them or revoke the connection any time in Settings → Assistant → External agents, where every call the agent made is listed.
- Tokens: only SHA-256 digests are stored; access tokens last minutes, a grant at most 30 days, and every response is re-checked against the grant, so a revocation or a lapsed Pro plan cuts a running connection off.
- Never exposed: your Fortunest password and login, your provider API keys and exchange keys, and your raw CSV files. Notes, documents and posts an agent reads are marked as untrusted content — they cannot grant a permission or approve an action.
- What does leave: whatever the agent reads goes to its own provider (Anthropic, OpenAI…) under that provider’s terms. See Privacy.
- The demo endpoint reads only the shared synthetic demo portfolio, changes nothing, keeps no record per call and is rate-limited. See its privacy note.
Example prompts
- "Use Fortunest to summarize my top five holdings and their combined weight. Do not change anything." — the read-only check.
- "How diversified is my portfolio, and what is my biggest concentration risk?"
- "Compare my time-weighted and money-weighted return. What does the gap say about my timing?"
- "Which of my tax lots become tax-free in the next twelve months?"
- "What does the trade plan recommend this month, and why?"
- "Open my Nvidia position in the dashboard and show its chart since January." — a dashboard action, approved in the app.
Questions people ask
Is there a free Fortunest MCP server?
Yes, for the demo portfolio: https://app.fortunest.ai/mcp/demo needs no account, no Pro and no sign-in. It serves seventeen read-only tools on a shared synthetic portfolio, so you can see what Claude or ChatGPT does with Fortunest before you import anything. Connecting an agent to your own portfolio at https://app.fortunest.ai/mcp is a Pro feature.
What is the Fortunest MCP endpoint URL?
https://app.fortunest.ai/mcp for your own portfolio (Pro, OAuth browser sign-in), https://app.fortunest.ai/mcp/mini for on-device models such as Siri through the MCP Agent iPhone app, and https://app.fortunest.ai/mcp/demo for the free demo portfolio. All three use Streamable HTTP; enter them exactly, without a trailing slash.
Does the Fortunest MCP server work with ChatGPT?
Yes. In ChatGPT turn on Developer mode, create a connector with the MCP server URL https://app.fortunest.ai/mcp and OAuth, then sign in to Fortunest and allow the connection. For the free demo use https://app.fortunest.ai/mcp/demo with Authentication set to No authentication. Custom connectors need a ChatGPT plan that offers Developer mode.
Which brokers does the Fortunest MCP server cover?
Every account you have in Fortunest. The agent reads the combined portfolio, not the broker: transaction CSV and Excel exports from 29 platforms such as DEGIRO, Revolut, Interactive Brokers, Trading 212, XTB, Trade Republic and Saxo, read-only API keys for crypto exchanges such as Kraken, Binance, Coinbase and Coinmate, brokers connected through SnapTrade, and assets added by hand, all in one display currency.
